The Search for Mark "Jacko" Jackson
Sunday Mar 08, 2026
Sunday Mar 08, 2026
(Originally recorded 3/4/26)
After a funeral related recording delay, the boys are back with a whole new slew of topics to ramble on about.
What you may ask?
How about Stephe's opening gambit: a work story that ultimately involves FBI participation.
Bruce, on his way back from the aforementioned funeral, stopped in Lafayette, Louisiana, the origin point of your hosting duo. He had some thoughts.
What else?
How about:
- Stephe's adventure at Trading Card Con (renamed PocketCon(tm) on the show)
- Curling with Nerds
- Codifying collector culture
- Bruce updates his Jason Statham viewing quest
- Bruce's new podcast obsession, Are You Afraid of the Dark Universe
We played What's on Your Desk?
And then there was a lengthy discussion about an issue of Hustler magazine from1984 and a very specific artistic feature therein.

Well, we did it! We made it to 100.
A full C-Note of Bruce and Stephe rambling about things X and geeky.
And, tonight, on our very special DOUBLE SIZED centennial episode, we finally land our white whale.
We finally have the up-and-coming HUNTER ROBERTS on the show.
Hunter gladly explains Taylor Swift to us in a manner we can understand.
We talk Oscars.
We talk Scream.
We talk Disney After Dark.
We talk the art and science of stand up comedy.
Hell, we even talk Love Boat with a millennial. He gets us.
Of course, we play what's on your desk. Hunter has lots to contribute.
Just in case you were wondering, there is, in fact, MORE Eternals talk.
Strap in, this is a good one.

It's our last podcast of 2025 and its a big one.
Episode 99!
Our first episode of 2026 will be #100.
But before we get to that milestone, we've got a full show for you tonight.
We discuss:
- Stephe's mail issues
- The problem with Twitter (or as Bruce calls it TwiX)
- Elon Musk
- Getting the wrong message from The Terminator
- Stephe has finally seen Superman. We discuss
- Is Bruce a pop culture sexist?
- Chicken Devil or is it Devil Chicken?
- Fun with Zoom calls
- The death of Rob Reiner
- Stephe's War over WaWa
Bruce plugged his radio show on KWVH.
We did a final batch of follows for the year. Those included:
- Twintourgolf
- Lorendigiori
- Chefreactions
- Justus_reed
- Jourdainfisher
- _Brett.michaels
- Aryahungry_
- Senseiseagal1983
- Thisismatttaylor
- insaneshayne1
We also had a lengthy discussion about the potential animation and philosophical possibilities of DC's Metal Men. Serious, there was lengthy Metal Men talk.
And, of course, we finished up with a round of "What's on Your Desk?"
Happy Holidays everyone! We'll see you in 2026.

Deconstructing The Christmas Contract
Thursday Dec 04, 2025
Thursday Dec 04, 2025
(Originally recorded 11/19/25)
This was the only episode of November. This time it was by design.
Bruce opened the show by talking briefly about the Kurt Busiek/George Perez run on the Avengers. Yeah, 20+ year old comic book talk.
Then we discussed the Tovala cooking system.
What'else?
How about:
Trying to figure out how many times Stephe has broken his nose
Cooking with the boys
Funko financials
Gamestop's trade in day
But we spent the majority of the podcast on what can only be considered a fools' errand.
We both watched and discussed the 2018 Lifetime Christmas movie, The Christmas Contract.
It was filmed in and around Lafayette, Louisiana so we thought we would be okay.
Oh, the things we do for this show.
We ended things with a rousing round of "What's on Your Desk?"
But it just wasn't enough to get rid of the Lifetime stench.

(Originally recorded 10/30/25)
Hey, we actually got three episodes in this month. Good for us!
This episode's burning question is whether or not Stephe washed his hair today.
He did assist with a 9-1-1 call at his office. He's a hero.
Bruce turned that moving story into a reason to start popping of Ric Flair quotes.
We discussed the World Series. This was right after the 18 inning game in the 2025 Series for the sake of posterity.
You're welcome posterity.
There's a brief conversation about the Panama Jack craze that swept Lafayette, Louisiana in the early 80s because Bruce was wearing a Panama Jack shirt.
We then, once again, get on a Smokey and the Bandit riff. That movie was apparently far more instrumental in our lives than we knew.
What if Big Enos ran Fantasy Island?
All I wrote was JD Vance so this must be the political portion of the show.
Bruce proposed that Arch Manning should have registered as Chad Powers at UT.
What else?
These things:
- Jack Tracker
- Night Court: SVU
- Rob Zombie
- Busty's
- We Both Hate Pumpkin Carving
- Can we get gutless pumpkins?
And, of course, there was a round of "What's on Your Desk?"

Present the Bjorn Egg
Sunday Nov 02, 2025
Sunday Nov 02, 2025
(Originally recorded 10/15/25)
On this episode we celebrate Stephe's birthday.
How do we celebrate it?
Well, we celebrate by Bruce ranting against a number of pop culture topics.
Which ones?
How about James Gunn and Grant Morrison?
Those big enough targets for you?
Stephe finally saw Superman so we talk about that. Ties in to the whole James Gunn of it all.
We discuss ways to get Joey Breaux out of our social feeds.
Bruce recommends King of Spies by Mark Millar.
Then we go into a lengthy discussion of Stephe's recent 40th high school reunion even though he didn't attend.
It's the SlurpToast way.
And, of course, we played "What's on Your Desk?"

(Originally recorded 10/2/2025)
We're closing in on episode 100. Just keep swimming.
As we started recording, episode 7 of Peacemaker was on the air and Stephe was getting pinging repeatedly on a group chat. It's ironic because Stephe doesn't have HBOMax, so he's not watching Peacemaker.
Bruce, however, is.
We discuss the subtle art of self-editing, especially in a business setting.
Bruce then proceeded to plug his new radio show, Crossroads. It airs on Mondays at 8pm CST on KWVH and streams on their apps (available wherever you get your apps.)
What else?
Lets see:
- Stephe moved his office
- The creation of wiggy.digs
- The many lives of Jon Gries
- Drugs in 1970s baseball
- Sports mishaps
- The upcoming SDCC presale
And, of course, we played "What's on Your Desk?"
Bruce mentioned that Stephe has a birthday coming up. Wish him a happy one if you see him.

It's always weird when we come in with an actual topic to discuss. That's what happened on this episode.
With all the recent talk about adding teams and realigning MLB, Bruce had another idea.
Spurred on by Ted Lasso and Welcome to Wrexham, he put together a plan to introduce relegation to America's favorite pasttime.
He even brought charts and graphs to make his point.
It's good news for Nashville. It's less good for Tacoma.
We also talked about Stephe's Mounjaro journey (Mounjourney?...copyright 2025 SlurpToast).
Stephe told the story of confusing a consultant with the creation of the Milk Fridge.
Of course, we played a rousing round of "What's on Your Desk?"
It's all available to entertain your ears right here right now.

(originally recorded 08.27.25)
The boys are back after what has become the traditional summer hiatus.
Stephe went on vacation, to his alma mater and to take his daughter back to college. Bruce waited patiently for him to return. Then he got sick.
So, after so much time away, what did we talk about?
This:
- SDCC recap
- Fantastic Four
- Stephe's new Pokemon obsession
- The Toxic Avenger and missed oppportunities
- Bruce updates his quest to watch all Jason Statham movies
- Stevie Ray Vaughn
- Missing the Millers
- Stephe's ongoing fascination with Harry Truman
- Bruce announces a new side gig
And, of course, we played "What's on Your Desk?"
Enjoy.

Big Cyke Energy - SDCC 2025 Preview
Thursday Jul 17, 2025
Thursday Jul 17, 2025
(Originally recorded 07/16/25)
We are a week out from SDCC 2025 and we wanted to take a look at what we were looking forward to this year.
As it turns out, not much.
Stephe is having a week of death by a thousand cuts.
Bruce saw Superman. Stephe didn't.
Stephe also hasn't seen Stick.
So, we moved on to the Con talk.
Neither of us is especially jazzed about this year's batch of exclusives. We go into pretty great detail about why.
Stephe is especially down on Funko's offerings. In fact, in this episode we get the long awaited Funko Heel Turn from Hall of Famer.
We talk about Adventures in the Secondary Market and what items from that end of the spectrum we may be hunting. Etrigan, I'm looking at you.
Stephe hits us with more of his new "Casual Villainy" vibe.
Of course, we played "What's on Your Desk?" This episode's edition caused Bruce to recall a game from his childhood.
Enjoy and we'll catch you in SD next week.
