bland MMA fighters

revisiting stuff we loved from our youth, specifically Real Genius and Fletch
The Negro League Museum
home repair
Stephe's battles with a gopher
Moon Knight
The Eternals
Kyle Kinane
Stephe's daughter tap dancing to RATM
Jim Thompson
All this and more on the latest episode of SlurpToast

And we end things with another look at what's on Stephe's desk (spoiler alert - its a toy).
It's a lot, but it's well worth your time.

Never Go Full Marple aka She Sits a Mean Dick
Thursday Apr 29, 2021
Thursday Apr 29, 2021
Recorded April 28, 2021
Postponed due to Covid vaccines and called on account of inclement weather, we hit episode 20 with no script and, as usual, almost no clue what we are going to talk about.
It doesn't slow down things as we rush headlong into discussions about
Covid vaccines
Falcon and the Winter Soldier
The future of the Netflix MCU
Shang-Chi
Sports radio
Letterbox'd
Nobody
Ong Bak
Action movies in general
Stephe's discovery of the Brokenwood Mysteries on Acorn
Mare of Easttown and its similarity to Broadchurch
The Nevers (aka Steampunk X-Men)
And to wrap things up, we play our first ever game of "What's on Stephe's Desk?" The answers may surprise you.
And we got it all in before the Central Texas weather took Bruce down again.

...Because of the Ball Gag
Thursday Apr 08, 2021
Thursday Apr 08, 2021
Recorded April 8, 2021
Episode 19 is in the books and coming at you in that SlurpToast style to which you've become accustomed.
We start out with some work chat and then segue into what are becoming regular segments for us: baseball and Moon Knight.
After that we touch on whole range of topics including, but not limited to:
Batman (specifically how he lost his money)
The Metal Men
Bruce's colonoscopy
Invincible (the animated series on Prime)
King Kong (76) aka Rape Ape
Kong v. Godzilla
Why comics are still sold as single issues
Falcon and the Winter Soldier
The upcoming Loki series
We try to end the show on a classy note with Stephe discussing the book he is currently reading, Wit's End: What Wit Is, How It Works, and Why We Need It. You're welcome for the plug James Geary.

It Translates to the Infected Sandwich
Wednesday Mar 24, 2021
Wednesday Mar 24, 2021
Has it been two weeks already?
We've got a full slate this week.
The topics we discuss include:
The Snyder Cut
Falcon and the Winter Soldier
Moon Knight
Jim Lee in charge of DC creative
Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate
Chumbawumba
Covid-19 vaccines
Fantastic Four Sex Jokes
Marvel Lucha Libre Pops
Funko Soda
Spring Training
Godzilla v. Kong
And our main topic is a discussion of how long television shows should go one. Stephe's recent first time binge of Community leads us into a discussion of why shows go on long after they are vital, shows that have stayed too long, shows that stayed strong until the end and what the differences can be.
We got really into it so this one goes a little long.

Secret Age of Infinite Rebirth Crises...Wars
Wednesday Mar 10, 2021
Wednesday Mar 10, 2021
aka You're About to Find Out What Your Dick's Biggest Fear Is
After a technical glitch, the boys jump into the comic book conversation in earnest this week.
The specific focus (if there is such a thing on SlurpToast) is the repeated and frequent continuity reboots of the big two. Stemming from a conversation Stephe had on another show about DC's Infinite Frontier, the topics tonight include:
Spawn
Moon Knight (duh)
Black Hammer
Batman
The Flash
Squadron Supreme
The Snyder Cut
WandaVision
And, the tax benefits of being Batman
It makes sense. It really does.
Stephe also asked me to put a link to the WWE History I am currently reading. The book is titled We Promised You a Great Main Event: An Unauthorized WWE History and it's a snarky delight.

Saturday Feb 27, 2021
Bruce has finally dug out of the Texas Snowpacalypse and the boys are ready to record again.
In addition to stories of braving the cold and new hot water heaters, they discuss:

Keanu as Kraven
JLaw as Sue Storm
Stephe's continued struggles with Extreme Yoga on Instagram
Karate and MMA
Funko
The Snyder Cut
Matt Stairs
Situational middle relievers
Justin Verlander's sloppy seconds
Lots of stuff covered with only a few awkward silences.
And a big shout out to David at Radiant Plumbing for getting Bruce and his family hot water again so quickly.

Why Are There So Many Damned Pouches?
Thursday Feb 04, 2021
Thursday Feb 04, 2021
Our little podcast hits 15 and celebrates it's audio Quincenera.
Sadly there were no nachos or tequila.
There was, however, Jefferson's Reserve bourbon.
There was also entertaining, free form discussion about a large variety of topics including:
Stephe making salesmen cry
The short squeeze
Cobra Kai
John Grisham
George RR Martin
The Big Game
Major League Baseball
The chances of SDCC 2021 actually taking place
WandaVision
Other possible Marvel properties that would be a good fit for Disney+
As you can see, it was all over the place.
It wasn't a trainwreck, but it was certainly disjoined.
Just the way we like it.
